One Hundred Portraits
The first ten portraits. I would rather start with my best, but instead, I show the initial trials — the real beginning. A return to portraiture.
It was a challenge. I don't know yet if I will succeed. A project without guarantees.
Collecting new faces and stories into my memory. So different. Unique.
Sometimes they were a reflection of my mood.
Other times, reflected an echo of inner thoughts and memories.
Testing the limits of my skills. Finding the point where planning ends and exploration begins.
I wanted to capture everything. But even though a hundred seems like a lot, the possibilities remain endless.
Where could a single theme lead me? As the collection grew, so did the weight of tiredness.
Finding my own patterns within the process, always leaving a place for experiment.
There were stronger pieces and weaker ones. Subjective as that may be, it does not define the worth of the project.
Its true value lies in the constancy, the daily practice, and the result itself.
